A Space to Talk
You don't need to arrive at counselling knowing exactly what you want to talk about.Sometimes people come with a particular difficulty or experience they want to explore. At other times, there may simply be a feeling that something isn't right, or that familiar patterns and difficulties keep returning.Counselling offers an opportunity to slow down, reflect and explore these experiences at your own pace.Together, we can begin to understand what may be happening beneath the surface, making connections between your experiences, relationships and the way you feel about yourself. There is no expectation to have all the answers.
speak freely, feel heard
About Me
I'm Ben Ward, a qualified counsellor based in Hertfordshire. My approach is warm, thoughtful and non-judgemental. I believe that having a space where you can speak freely, feel heard and explore your thoughts and feelings can be an important part of developing a deeper understanding of yourself.I trained in psychodynamic counselling, an approach that recognises how our earlier experiences and relationships can continue to influence the way we think, feel and relate to others. This doesn't mean that counselling is always about looking into the past. We can explore whatever feels important to you, including what's happening in your life right now.I completed five years of professional training in psychodynamic counselling with The Counselling Foundation, gaining a Diploma and Advanced Diploma through a BACP-accredited training programme.I'm a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and work in accordance with its Ethical Framework.
